What is the secret of Peter Jackson’s weight loss? The image most of us have of the Lord of the Rings filmmaker is a bespectacled, overweight figure reminiscent of one of his Hobbit characters.

In fact, movie industry insiders and Jackson fans started noticing Peter Jackson’s new look nearly a year ago. But it’s only now with all the hype surrounding the soon-to-be-released King Kong feature that audiences at large have woken up to the skinny, man-less version of themselves and are starting to question Peter Jackson’s diet.

And it’s not hard to see why all this interest. Peter Jackson’s weight loss has been impressive – he lost about 70 pounds (32 kg).

So what is the secret to his diet?
Was it the south beach diet? Caveman diet? Atkins diet?

Obesitycures.com did some research and discovered that Jackson didn’t follow any of the popular diets. The real secret to weight loss phenomenon Peter Jackson has dubbed the “Skull Island Diet” after the fictional home island of King Kong.

Jackson, distraught by all the attention his new photo was receiving, insisted on a lifestyle change, rather than a diet that was responsible for his weight loss.

“I just got tired of being overweight and not being fit, so I changed my diet from hamburgers to yogurt and muesli and it seemed to work,” Jackson told Britain’s Daily Telegraph.
Jackson reportedly didn’t follow any specific exercise program, but he did talk several times about his grueling 21-hour-a-day work schedule on the set of King Kong, which was no doubt responsible for part of his weight loss.

Jackson said he would cut during the day and shoot during the night for months on end, subsisting on three hours of sleep. “I thought I was some kind of Superman, but that made me deal with it.”

And what about Jackson’s new glasses-free case? No, unfortunately losing weight does not improve your eyesight. Jackson underwent laser eye surgery, explaining that he was “tired of being outside with rain and dust on glasses.”
